INTRODUCTION
What is Clandestowe? To the denizens of the fictional galaxy itself, that question remains unanswered. It is the Question that every one asks themselves, but only the brave discover the answer. In our reality, Clandestowe is a vast galaxy I’ve created, and the Cilessian saga is just a small offshoot of it. The Cilessian story is just an infinitesimal part in an intricate epic that spans countless lands and worlds. It is the part that you are most familiar with, and the part that is the central focus of this Club.
Let me explain the setting of Clandestowe. The epic saga takes place in a distant galaxy; however, this Galaxy is not like our space at all. In Clandestowe, Magic is dominant and is intertwined with science.
“Space” as you know it does not exist. Clandestowe “Space” behaves almost as though it were an extension of the sky. That is to say, that you can breathe in it. It can have clouds and even climates: the further you move away from a star the colder it gets and vice versa. The same applies to how light is distributed. It is possible to feel as though you are sailing through daylight when inside space. When it is dark it never gets “black” Instead it appears as a gentle dark blue night sky. However, like space, gravity is nonexistent, and it shares the same vast endlessness and celestial phenomena. Because of the unique nature of space, planets are often times literally flat, ovular, or a host of other shapes.
Travel through space is done by ships powered by either a magic generator, or levitation rocks. They come in various shapes and sizes. Some use propellers, and many sail on the great solar winds. Some resemble large Spanish galleons, old navy gunboats (human ships), and some even resemble trees.
There is no “Hyper speed” or light speed mechanisms. However, Travel throughout the Galaxy at a rapid pace is made possible by utilizing what philosophers have called “The Infinity Railroad”. It is a cosmic network of intergalactic tunnels or wormholes, which can transport a ship through great distances in a short time. When traveling through it however, you don’t feel as though you’re moving fast at all. The railroad is sealed by The Infinity Gates, which only flayers can open. The gates appear as large translucent structures. Mighty sentinels guard some of them. These are the forbidden gates locked away by the extinct ancients who built the Infinity railroad. Some believe that the entire Railroad has been mapped out, but that is Far from the truth.
All technology, medicine and science are intertwined with magic. There are blasters and rifles in existence that use magic as their ammunition. However, for the most part they are too expensive, or are too large for general use. Other weaponry includes traditional weapons such as axes and swords, and enhanced weapons like magic blades, or blades able to repel blasters. The blade is still the most common weapon despite technological advances. Advance weapons like blasters and Automatons (Robots and droids) still have a rustic look about them. (Like the enemies’ weapons in “Stargate”)
There are a vast number of races throughout all of Clandestowe. I have defined only 20 of them, but the number is far greater than that. The races can include anything from Fantasy based creatures such as elves, dwarves to our favorites; the Cilessians. Each comes with their own unique culture and purpose.
The Cilessians are but one race of the many, and I hope that you enjoy that small part of my vision
